Overview:

This session is designed to eliminate that uncertainty. You'll learn how to read income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements with confidence. More importantly, you'll gain the skills to analyze what the numbers actually mean: profitability trends, liquidity issues, debt levels, and more. By the end of this training, you'll be able to speak the language of finance-and use it to your advantage.

Whether you’re in operations, HR, marketing, or management, understanding financial statements is no longer optional-it’s essential. Don’t let the numbers hold you back. Equip yourself with the tools to ask the right questions, uncover red flags, and contribute meaningfully to financial discussions.

Why should you Attend: Are you expected to understand financial reports but feel overwhelmed by the numbers? Have you sat through budget meetings or board reviews wondering what the income statement or balance sheet is really telling you? You’re not alone.

Many professionals-even experienced managers-struggle to make sense of financial statements. The fear of misinterpreting results or asking “basic” questions can lead to confusion, missed opportunities, and poor decision-making. Without a firm grasp of financial statements, you're operating without a full view of your organization's health-and that puts you at a disadvantage.

Areas Covered in the Session:

  • The three core financial statements: Income, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow
  • Purpose and structure of each statement
  • How the statements are interconnected
  • Key terms and metrics to know (e.g., revenue, cost of goods sold, EBITDA)
  • Identifying trends and financial red flags
  • Performing a basic financial statement analysis
  • Understanding profitability, liquidity, and solvency
  • Real-world examples and exercises

Who Will Benefit:
  • Anyone that works in a Financial Institution
